^^ Her hair color!! So crazy! ^^
YAY! IT'S FINALLY HERE.
Valentines Day has always been one of my favorite holidays growing up and still is. Every store is filled with chocolate candies that have PINK wrapping, white chocolate covered strawberries, pink and red EVERYWHERE, heart decor, pink decor, flowers, dressing up... date night... I mean what more could a girl ask for in a holiday!?
I have such wonderful memories of Valentines Day growing up. 6th grade: I wore red tights under my jean skirt with chunky black shoes. Also, my BFF Anna had an amazing castle Valentines day box made out of a oatmeal containter that I was so jealous of! lol 10th grade: I wore a pink sweater, pink pleated school girl skirt in pink plaid, and pink Uggs. 11th grade: I wore red pointy toe high heels, jeans, and a Old Navy grey shirt that had "LOVE" written on it. TRUE LIFE I remember what I wore to school. LOL
Valentines day has always been more about just a date night though for me as my mom always made it so special and fun! She would make us pancakes on and decorate the kitchen table with fun paper heart plates, napkins, and confetti. ALWAYS heart confetti. Then she would send us off to school with bags of hugs/kisses/snickers to pass out to our friends or eat ourselves all day! :) I always gave out valentines to my friends all through junior high and high school and even made pink cupcakes one year to pass out. I just love everything about it.
I'm so happy to be able to carry on the fun tradition to my kids and have made Seth pink pancakes since we have been married too! I decided to get fancy this year and try out the heart shape and think they turned out SO cute! I put red food dye in the pancake batter and then put the batter in a squeeze bottle, then squeezed it on the pan! It took a couple tries but it was worth it! Also- no breakfast is complete without 'Spark on the Rocks.' lol
Hope you enjoy celebrating today and sharing all your love with everyone special in your life!
